В английском языке разграничиваются реальные заслуги, как повод для поздравления, и календарные даты, в праздновании которых личных усилий и достижений нет. Русскому поздравлять могут соответствовать в английском языке слова разных частей речи.1. to congratulate — поздравлять (с чем-либо, что удачно или успешно завершено, с достижениями поздравляемого): to congratulate smb on smth — поздравлять кого-либо с чем-либо; го congratulate smb on doing smth — поздравлять кого-либо с тем, что тот сделал/поздравлять кого-либо с тем, чего тот достиг I wish to congratulate your team on the victory. — Я хочу поздравить пишу команду с победой.
